What Do You Write When There's Nothing To Write About?

Computer on my lap

Thesaurus opened in a tab

The cursor blinks away

But all ideas seem drab

The lights are turned down low

Only the fan hums in this quiet night

A million thoughts in this chaotic head

And yet, none seem just right

Strange how forgettable life is

Ephemeral in its elegant grace

A photograph on the wall, a band on your wrist

The stories forgotten, mere mementos leave a trace

Days buried beneath the sands of time

How do you reminisce when you can't remember?

I stare at a blank wall, helpless in my plight

Desperately clinging on to the dying embers

My phone in my hand A smile on your face A coy glance, a quick exchange So begins the chase It starts with a casual text
