I'm not impressed by wealth or fame
They are as fleeting as this day
Fancy cars and lavish meals
Extravagance doesn't make me sway
A smolder and a sideways glance
Coming up to me, looking for a hollow romance
Pardon me good sir, I'll have to decline
Your superfluous gambits don't entrance
The love I seek is humble and kind
A gentle spirit, an original mind
The plumage that is his soul open only to my eyes
And mine to his; that is what I hope to find
Dance, rattle, struggle for my affection
Woo me with your heart's iridescence
Write me poetry, talk of stars in the night sky
Let my shadow inhabit your very essence
I lost touch to poetry in the depths of time,
Thought it's beyond me and didn't give a dime
But what this girl writes strikes my mind,
she has a artistic touch that puts my life on a rewind
